International Children’s Day 2016
International Children’s Day was celebrated with games, dancing and gifts on 1st June at Angkor Hospital for Children. International Children’s Day is dedicated to promoting the welfare of children around the world. Children’s health and well-being are at the heart of everything AHC does – and it is only fitting that we celebrate with our small patients such an important occasion!
Children and their families had the chance for the morning to forget about their troubles and do what kids do best – play games, laugh and have fun! The Outpatient Department was transformed into a playground filled with balloons, dancing and laughter. Our Social Work department and volunteers from our Youth Peer Advisory Group led the fun-filled activities, and were joined by AHC staff and their families too.
To spread the message about International Children’s Day, AHC met with Siem Reap’s tuk tuk drivers and Airport Transport Association and distributed free Children’s Day t-shirts all of the drivers to wear so bright green AHC shirts were seen all around the temple town.
