Angkor Hospital for Children (AHC) is a non-profit organization providing free medical care to children in Siem Reap. AHC is looking for a highly motivated individual who can fill the currently vacant position Medical Education Assistant. The successful applicant will be a person who is highly motivated to learn and further develop their skills working for a NGO non-profit hospital.

General description

The Medical Education Assistant will work with the whole Education Department but his / her line manager will be the Education Director. S/he will work closely with the Medical Education Officer.

Main Responsibilities

  • Assisting Education Director, Chief of Medical Education, Chief and Deputy Chief of Nursing Education in the running of the medical residents, interns’ and nursing students programs: including preparing teaching and examination materials, keeping a record of leaves, teaching attendance and exam scores, preparing certificates and closing / graduation ceremonies
  • Assisting volunteers in teaching preparation
  • Communicating with relevant staff members on behalf of the education department
  • Assisting medical, nursing and English departments in teaching schedule preparation
  • Responsible for preparing classroom and audiovisual equipment scheduling
  • Managing inventory and ordering office supplies
  • Help with administration tasks and coordination of short and long courses at AHC and AHC conferences, also working with foreign volunteers as required
  • Collate, type up and distribute feedback from participants of teaching sessions
  • Collect data on teaching activities weekly from all departments
  • Monthly data report about educational activities, including quality assurance data


  • Knowledge of MS Word, Excel (able to create a table, enter data and perform simple functions)
  • Working Knowledge of Outlook (email and calendar)
  • High School Diploma or higher
  • Able to move chairs and desks, willing to tidy up and clean classrooms
  • Good organisational skills, reliable and honest
  • Good conversational, reading and written English language skills (minimum upper intermediate level equivalent)
  • Good interpersonal skills with Khmer staff and foreign volunteers
  • Willing to receive training and develop their skills and roles over time, especially computer skills
  • Able to operate photocopier, printer, LCD projector
  • Working Knowledge of Mega
  • Previous experience of minute-taking
