General description

 
The Social Media and Marketing Officer will be part of the Communications Unit, working closely with the Communications Manager and Graphic Designer, to produce effective social media and marketing materials that promote AHC widely and in a positive way. The main role and responsibility is to raise the profile of the AHC through social media, AHC website and marketing materials and to provide general communications support.
 

Main Responsibilities

 

  • Assist in raising profile of AHC through social media and related platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram etc)
  • Research, write and upload AHC content to Facebook and Twitter daily
  • Maintain social media calendar with plans for posts, stories, major events, etc.
  • Identify, research and write short but effective stories and messages (with support of the Communications Manager) to share on AHC social media
  • Respond to comments on social media, or refer onward, as appropriate
  • Link in with bloggers and social influencers in Cambodia and ensure AHC gains new followers
  • Set up website/social media tracking and keep statistics on interactions. Provide a regular report
  • Take impactful photographs in adherence with AHC’s child protection policy, both within the hospital and at AHC events, for use in social media and marketing materials
  • Develop AHC Instagram account

 

General Marketing and Communications responsibilities include

 

  • To assist the Communications Manager with other communications tasks as required, eg research for AHC Annual Report, development of marketing materials
  • Support Event Team in development of collateral and event materials when requested
  • Occasional translation between English to Khmer and vice versa
  • Maintain media coverage record and social media statistics report
  • Occasionally accompany journalists or media personnel around hospital
  • To participate in weekly Communications dept weekly meetings
  • Occasional administrative tasks for the department (eg submit purchase requests)
  • Represent AHC at events, assist with photography at events as required

 

Qualifications

 

  • Degree in media, communications, marketing, journalism, or similar
  • 3 years experiences in a similar position (marketing, communications, etc)
  • Excellent oral and written skills in both Khmer and English
  • Interest in social media, experience using it for business purposes is preferred
  • A ‘people-person’ – who loves to meet new people and develop good working relationships
  • Experience in writing copy or marketing content for business/NGO if preferred
  • Be highly organized
  • Be flexible to work out of normal office hours as required
  • Committed to support AHC’s mission of ensuring quality healthcare for all Cambodia’s children
  • Team player with the proven ability to work in a collaborative environment
  • Ability to work to strict deadlines
  • Ability to multi-task – work on many projects simultaneously
  • Friendly and outgoing personality, as making key working relationships will be important
  • Ability to learn the new things, to work flexible hours, to travel locally and nationally
  • Ability to take constructive criticism on board and makes adjustments accordingly
  • Receptive and open to new ideas and ready to develop new initiatives
