“Cycling for Environment and Children’s Health”
On August 31, 400 participants set off cycling into the beautiful Cambodian countryside as part of the “Cycling for Environment and Children’s Health” event hosted by Cambodia Cycling and Asian Square Group.
The event began with welcome speeches at Asian Square Restaurant and Lounge and following, sanitary gloves and trash bags were distributed to all participants so that they could collect trash and clean up the Siem Reap environment on the way to the cycling starting point just next to the Crocodile Farm.
Upon arrival, mountain bikes and helmets were provided to all participants so the only two things they had to bring with them was their enthusiasm and their camera!
After cycling by the beautiful Athvea Temple, there was a break for all participants to enjoy the delicious food catered by Asian Square Restaurant and Lounge. There was also a lucky draw with many prizes donated by local supporters, a quiz filled with fun facts about Angkor Hospital for Children, a slow bicycle race competition among many more fun games and prizes to be won by all!
Yesterday in the Visitor’s Center, AHC was very delighted to welcome Cambodia Cycling, Asian Square Restaurant and Lounge and other wonderful local Sponsors who made the event possible. Together they were able to raise over $7,500 to support AHC.
From all of us at AHC, and on behalf of the children we treat, we want to say thank you to all those who made this great event possible! We look forward to participating in such a wonderful event again next year.
