Venue: Angkor Hospital for Children (AHC), Siem Reap, Cambodia
Participants will learn the knowledge necessary for effective treatment and stabilisation of children with life-threatening emergencies through Advanced Paediatric Life Support (APLS) and Paediatric Life Support (PLS) while also receiving a skills refresh on the practical procedures necessary for effective management of childhood emergencies.
Training methodology is based on a mixture of theory and practice, including lecture, skill stations, workshops, and scenario training, and is taught by experienced, Khmer-speaking Cambodian instructors from AHC and government hospitals. Testing includes pre-test and post-test (MCQ), skill station test and scenario test.
Since the introduction of APLS to AHC in 2005-2009, AHC has trained more than 500 participants. AHC is among the first to bring APLS training to Cambodia healthcare workers, and is the only provider in Cambodia to offer the course. AHC uses and applies international standards in the training.
Advanced Paediatric Life Support is for experienced doctors and nurses, whereas Paediatric Life Support (PLS) is a daylong course for nurses. Place is limited, please register now to receive the pre-course package (Manual & Pre-test) on time (one month in advance).
APLS Cost: $300* for the 3-day course, including manual (Khmer or English version), training materials, instructors’ fees, stationary, lunch, refreshment, Certificate of Achievement
PLS Cost: $100* for the 1-day course, including manual (Khmer or English version), training materials, instructors’ fees, stationary, lunch, refreshment, Certificate of Achievement
