The position

Do you have a record of energetic and transformative leadership? If so, you may be our next Chief Financial Officer (CFO).
As the CFO reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, you will develop and monitor AHCs financial strategy and manage our financial resources. As a member of the senior management team, you will be a key partner in the evolution and execution of AHCs strategy in collaboration with the Chief Executive Officer, senior management and the Board of Directors. You will directly manage a strong and compassionate finance team at our Siem Reap Office.

Key responsibilities

  • To bring a seasoned commercial mindset to the AHC senior management team.
  • Serve as AHC’s financial leader by communicating with and providing technical assistance to partners, funders, auditors, and internal team members, including AHC’s executive leadership and senior management.
  • Leading the development of initiatives supporting AHCs strategic objective of becoming a leading model of excellence in non-profit organizational governance.
  • Provide leadership for budget strategy, budget development and implementation in close collaboration with the Financial Controller, Finance Manager, Program implementation and Local and International fundraising teams.
  • Manage compliance with regulatory and audit requirements and generally accepted accounting principles through oversight of all accounts, reporting systems, and system of internal control in collaboration with the Audit and Operational Risk committee.
  • Oversee all aspects of financial reporting to AHC stakeholders, including the Executive Committee, the International board, donors, relevant authorities and AHC departments.
  • Inspire and coach AHC’s Finance team and build understanding of financial management across the senior management team.
  • Supporting the organisation fundraising strategy through maintaining and building relationships with current and potential supporters.
  • Be available to travel up to 10%, including both national and international travel.

Essential attributes

As an experienced financial leader and team manager you will bring

  • Several years of experience developing and implementing creative financial management strategies in complex organizations.
  • The ability to foster and cultivate relationships with stakeholders from across diverse cultural backgrounds.
  • The ability to develop, implement and continually improve organizational systems of financial reporting and internal control.
  • Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail and experience in financial modelling and analysis
  • The ability to recognize and discern the needs of stakeholders; particularly our beneficiaries, Board of Directors, funders, and employees.
  • Written and verbal English at a degree of fluency which means can interact with fluent speakers on complex topics without strain to either party.

Desirable attributes

  • Conversant in current trends, developments, and theories in non-profits and healthcare in emerging markets.
  • Experience working internationally or in the health sector
  • Experience with financial management of a variety of non-profit funding sources, including institutional funds, individuals and events.
  • Internationally recognized accounting qualification (CPA, ACA, CA, ACCA or equivalent)
  • Knowledge of organizational development and human resources.
  • Experience leading projects to develop and implement ERP systems.
