AHC is looking for a creative and thoughtful Communications Support Officer fluent in Khmer and English (speaking, reading and writing). The position will support the Communications Unit across various functions and through coordinative, liaised, and administrative duties for the Unit.

This is a unique opportunity for a young and motivated candidate to build foundational knowledge in order to kick-start a thriving career in non-profit communications.

Job Objective:

  • Support the Communications Unit with annual targets
  • Participate to develop engaging and informative content to support AHC’s programmes and fundraising activities.
  • Coordinate Communications Unit’s work with different AHC departments and units

Responsibilities

COMMUNICATIONS OUTPUTS

  • Find leads and participate in producing monthly content for AHC’s social media
  • Participate in producing AHC annual report, case studies and other communications materials
  • Provide translation services if required by the Fundraising, or Communications teams
  • Support all Communications Unit functions as needed
  • Support Grants team, Individual giving, and Events teams as needed

PUBLIC RELATIONS/PRESS/EVENTS

  • Represent AHC at events, assist with photography at events as required
  • Accompany journalists or media personnel around AHC
  • Maintain a database of local and international media coverage
  • Link with bloggers and social influencers in Cambodia and ensure AHC gains new followers on a regular basis

OTHER

  • Act as a liaison point between the Communications Unit and other AHC departments to build strong working relationships and communication flow of AHC activities
  • Act as an admin for communications units to maintain database and other communications materials for effective workflow
  • Remain flexible and be able to assist the Manager and fellow unit members whenever required

Position Requirements/Qualifications

  • Required Education: Degree in Communications, Business, Marketing, or other relevant fields
  • Working Experience:
  • Fresh graduates or candidates early in their career
  • Experience working at non-profit organisations is preferred

Requirement for Skills and Abilities:

  • A dynamic personality willing to solve problems and make things work
  • Fluent in Khmer and English(speaking and writing)
  • Pro-active, independent, quick thinker, able to problem solve ‘on the go’
  • Ability to multi-task – work on many projects simultaneously
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office with understanding of design programmes such as Adobe Photoshop and Canva.
  • Ability to work well under pressure with strict deadlines
  • Friendly and outgoing personality, as making key working relationships will be important
  • Ability to learn new things, work flexible hours, to travel locally and nationally
