General description

The Radiology technician works as the roles in the Imaging Unit. The Radiology technician directly accountable to the Radiology team leader.

Areas of duty and responsibilities/accountabilities

  1. Primary Responsibilities
  2. Take X-ray and CT scans as requested by physicians
  3. Processing digital x-ray and CT scans on time to Radiologist/physicians
  4. Record and data entry for producing the report
  5. Checking, cleaning and maintaining the equipment/devices
  6. To be able to practice without direct supervision
  7. To undertake appropriate on-call duties as specified in the on call schedule
  8. To keep track monthly report
  9. Assume responsibilities in cooperation within the Imagery Unit
  10. To always ask for help when you are unsure, uncertain or do not know what to do
  11. Professional Responsibilities
  12. Follow the hospital policies and procedures
  13. Adhere to the terms of the contract of employment
  14. Follow the health and safety guidelines of the hospital
  15. Identify inappropriate practices by any AHC staff member
  16. Be accountable for all own actions
  17. While on duty, act as a representative for the AHC
  18. Maintain patient confidentiality at all times
  19. Do not use hospital property or resources for personal use
  20. Inform team leader as soon as possible if unable to work due to illness, absence following the hospital policy
  21. Educational Responsibilities
  22. Attend BLS and Infection Control refresher course once a year
  23. Attend class as required and comply with Nursing Education requirement
  24. Train selected staff the radiology skills when directed by Nursing Department
  25. Take advantage of radiology specialization training when available
  26. Have a good understanding of physiology, anatomy, disease and condition and continue to update and expand nursing knowledge
  27. Participate in and provide appropriate in-service training and facilitation of new employees
  28. Ask for teaching or explanation whenever necessary in the clinical setting
  29. Maintain a working level of English relevant the role of radiology assistant in AHC
  30. Personal Qualities/ Requirement:
  31. Radiology technician/Associated Degree in Nursing (ADN)/Primary nurse is also encouraged for the job holder who has merits as described in the job and professional responsibilities
  32. Arrive at work on time, wearing the correct uniform and ensuring personal hygiene
  33. Treat all people in the hospital politely and with respect (colleagues, visitors, children and their families)
  34. Be enthusiastic, team work oriented, and highly committed to the hospital
  35. Be honest and trustworthy
  36. Be creative and flexible at work
  37. Good communication skills and understanding
  38. Be adaptable and change roles to meet the needs of the department
