Exciting New Partnership for AHC

This Saturday was the first workshop run by AHC, as part of an exciting collaboration with the Cambodian Hemophilia Association. Bringing together 20 families from Siem Reap, Battambang, Kompong Thom, Banteay Meanchey and Oddar Meanchey provinces, it was about learning more about the disease and sharing insights and experiences. Dr. Sing Heng, the chief of the Inpatient Department (IPD) took the group through the symptoms, the treatments and the care available from the services here at AHC.

Mr.Sreng Sung, the nursing team leader from IPD also shared his knowledge, in taking care of children with hemophilia – advising the group on the benefits of education in avoiding accidents and being more aware of potential triggers.

The workshop was designed to bring families together and help them to understand more about the disease and the help available, it was also an opportunity for them to meet our Hemophilia Support Team (HST), nurses, medical staff and social work service.

As a part of the morning, families were encouraged to share their own experiences, so that they could work together to support each other in the future.

Thanks to this unique collaboration between AHC and the Cambodian Hemophilia Association, we can now continue to offer support and treatment more effectively – saving lives and building support networks between different provinces outside of Siem Reap.
