executive_director_ahcWilliam Housworth (aka Dr. Bill) – Executive Director

Bill is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics and was the Assistant Regional Director of Kentuckiana Emergency Physicians. With his physician wife Lori and four children, he has worked in developing world settings throughout Africa and Asia. Bill and Lori completed their Masters in Public Health at Harvard University.

Chanpheaktra Ngoun – Deputy Director

Dr. Pheaktra trained as a doctor at AHC in 1999 before progressing to Team Leader and then becoming the Director of Emergency and Intensive Care Unit in 2002. Two years later he was promoted to Deputy Director. In this role he provides clinical treatment as well as continuing medical education to junior doctors.

Navy worked at a government health center before joining AHC as a nurse. He is an integral part of the management team, having risen from Team Leader to Vice-Director of Nursing. Promoted to Chief Operating Officer in 2012, Navy is responsible for making sure the hospital runs efficiently and effectively.

Sophal Som - Director of Nursing

After attending Regional Nursing School in Battambang, Sophal started his career at Sot Nikum Referral Hospital, before moving to work for the Provincial Health Department in Siem Reap. Sophal was recruited by AHC in 1998 as a nurse, before becoming Nursing Manager. In 2004 he was promoted to Director of Nursing.

Manila Prak - External Projects Director

Manila graduated as a nurse in 1989 and worked at a government health center before joining the IPD at AHC in 1999. She was promoted to Nursing Education Coordinator in 2002 and External Project Advisor in 2010. Manila travels across Cambodia and meets with the Ministry of Health, to improve care provided in hospitals.

Helen Catton - Satellite Clinic Director

With a degree in Psychology, a Masters in Nursing and certificates from the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine, Helen previously worked on an Infection Control & Immunology ward, and with a public health team on the Thai/Burmese border. She supports staff to provide care and integrate with the government hospital.

Arun Sinketh - External Relations Manager

Arun started as a nurse in the IPD in 2001, then took on the role Personal Assistant to the Executive Director, before being promoted to Director of Public Relations. Arun helps direct the growth of local and international knowledge of AHC and brings together people, businesses and organizations to help support the hospital.

In 2003, Chinda worked as a volunteer in the Logistics Department. In 2006 he was appointed to the position of Purchasing Officer until September 2010, when he was promoted to Senior Grants Manager. Now as Grant Management Director one of his key roles is centered on the generation and maintenance of funds to AHC through donations and grants.

Kazumi Akao - Technical Advisor HIV/AIDS Program

Kazumi, who holds nursing licenses from Japan and the USA,  began teaching nursing at AHC in 1999, and then established the Home Care/HIV Program, which today treats hundreds of children with essential antiretroviral therapy. Her work also includes working with Japanese donors to support AHC.
