Lina was a happy and playful two-year-old. But her mother Bosba grew concerned when she noticed unexplained blue bruises across Lina’s back, neck and legs. When Lina developed a high fever and her stomach began swelling, Bosba couldn’t deny that something was wrong.
Lina transferred between several clinics and hospitals, but no one could find an answer. They prescribed her fever medication, but Lina didn’t improve. Eventually, a family member recommended Lina go to AHC.
Recognising Lina’s symptoms, our oncologists ran a bone marrow test. The tests confirmed Lina had cancer — specifically, B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukaemia.

Luckily, our medical social work team immediately arranged a financial package to cover the cost of Lina’s treatment. Meanwhile, our oncologists began Lina’s treatment plan, including five phases of chemotherapy.
Nine months later, Lina’s looking at a fully recovery.

Today, Lina’s fevers are under control, her bruises have disappeared and the swelling in her stomach has gone down. Most of the leukaemia cells already died after two rounds of chemotherapy, but our oncologists will continue treating her for the next two and a half years to ensure a full recovery.
