Working alongside our Board of Directors, AHC consists of 99% Cambodian staff. Meet some of our team:

Claudia Turner – Chief Executive Officer (Executive Committee)

Claudia became the Chief Executive Officer of AHC in April 2015, she has responsibility for overseeing all aspects of the running of the AHC Organization. Claudia first joined AHC in 2012 in a research collaboration with the University of Oxford forming the Cambodia Oxford Medical Research Unit (COMRU). Claudia is a UK trained paediatrician, with wide tropical paediatric experience.

Chanpheaktra Ngoun – Hospital Director (Executive Committee)

Dr. Pheaktra has been with AHC since the very beginning: he trained as a doctor at AHC in 1999, and has been with us ever since. In 2002, Dr. Pheaktra was named Director of Emergency and Intensive Care Unit before being promoted to Chief of Medicine just two years later. In 2011 he was named Deputy Director from which he was promoted to Acting Medical Executive Director in early 2015.

Navy Tep, RN, MBA – Chief Operating Officer (Executive Committee)

Navy worked at a government health center before joining AHC as a nurse. He is an integral part of the management team, having risen from Team Leader to Vice-Director of Nursing. Promoted to Chief Operating Officer in 2012, Navy is responsible for making sure the hospital runs efficiently and effectively.

Gregor McKellar – Chief Financial Officer (Executive Committee)

Gregor began working with AHC as Chief Financial Officer in March 2015 and is responsible for overseeing the financial management of the organisation. Prior to joining AHC Gregor worked for six years in the UK with Deloitte’s corporate finance and external audit practices across the corporate and non-profit sectors. Gregor qualified as a Chartered Account in 2012 and is currently undertaking a Masters in Social Innovation with the Judge Business School at the University of Cambridge.

Pises Ngeth – Medical Director

Dr. Pises joined AHC in 1999 and was promoted to Medical Director in 2012. He has been teaching at AHC since 2003 and is a trained Cardiologist. His role is to oversee all medical departments. Dr. Ngeth is a member and instructor of Advance Pediatric Life Support (APLS) Australia.

Sophal Som – Director of Nursing

After attending Regional Nursing School in Battambang, Sophal started his career at Sot Nikum Referral Hospital, before moving to work for the Provincial Health Department in Siem Reap. Sophal was recruited by AHC in 1998 as a nurse, before becoming Nursing Manager. In 2004 he was promoted to Director of Nursing.

Visal Maray – Director of Administration Department

Visal came to AHC as a volunteer in 2002, and was employed as a Unit Clerk in the In-patient ward in the same year. She was promoted to be an Admin assistant a year later and after five years was appointed Admin Office Manager, responsible for daily admin office operation and coordination of volunteer travel and visas. She has a Masters of Business Administration in General Management. In 2013 she became the Director of Administration department responsible for leading and managing the daily operation activities of the entire hospital.

Naro Kong – AHC’s Acting External Programs Director

After graduating from Battambang Nursing School in 2000, Naro joined AHC as a nurse in our Inpatient Department. In 2002, Naro was promoted to Nursing Team Leader in the Emergency Room/Intensive Care Unit where she remained until 2010. Naro then transitioned to become a nursing consultant for our External Program Department, in partnership with University Research Corporation, where she advised on how to best improve the quality of care in the public health sector. After more than 4 years as the Interim Director of the External Programs Department, Naro was promoted to the Acting Director in September of 2014.

Linne Yun – Human Resources Director

Linne Yun became Human Resources Director in 2012. Linne received his bachelor’s degree from University of Management in Phnom Penh, Cambodia and received a master’s degree in Human Resources and Industrial Relations from University of Western Sydney in 2003. After receiving his degree, he went on to begin his career in the HR field as a government officer before transitioning to the non-profit sector. After 9 years of working as an HR consultant for various education and charity projects, Linne was hired as the Human Resources Director at AHC. He provides oversight for all HR related services at the hospital and is an integral part of the management team.

Rathi Guhadasan – Director of Education

Dr Rathi Guhadasan graduated from Kings College London School of Medicine and Dentistry in UK in 1994, commenced paediatric training in 1995 and is on the UK specialist register for paediatrics. She also has a Diploma in Tropical Medicine and Hygiene and MSc in Public Health in Developing Countries, both from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. She worked at AHC from December 2001-June 2005 and was responsible for medical education from 2003-5. She returned as Education Director in October 2015.
