Job Summary
The Fundraising Officer works within a highly skilled team responsible for raising US$3,500,000 per year for the hospital from overseas donors. This role primarily focuses on engaging international individual donors, particularly those who visit AHC. AHC’s existing portfolio of international donors includes regular, repeat, and new supporters from around the world who contribute to AHC’s mission to improve healthcare for children in Cambodia.
This role supports the International Fundraising Team in engaging new, existing, and lapsed donors through timely updates and by facilitating conversations around renewing and increasing support. The Fundraising Officer works closely with programme staff and senior colleagues to build strong relationships with donors and to plan donor engagement activities such as hospital site visits and tours.
AHC has zero tolerance for Child Abuse, Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (SEA), and Sexual Harassment (SH).
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and steward a portfolio of individual donors and prospects, ensuring consistent engagement, follow-up, and accurate record-keeping.
- Work closely with the AHC Visitor Centre to engage visitors, capture donor interests, and ensure timely and personalised follow-up to convert visits into long-term donor relationships.
- Coordinate donor visits, meetings, and in-country engagements, acting as a focal point for logistics and internal coordination.
- Maintain donor pipelines, contact reports, and stewardship activities in Salesforce.
- Act as a liaison between fundraising, finance, communications, and operations teams to ensure smooth donor experiences and high-quality proposals and reports.
- Support the Fundraising Team with administrative tasks such as purchase requests, physical asset tracking, and producing communications collateral.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g. business, marketing, communications, international development) or equivalent professional experience.
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
- Ability to build and maintain positive, professional relationships with donors and partners, with an understanding of different donor motivations and communication styles.

- Excellent planning, time management, and organisational skills.
- Highly motivated and able to work independently towards agreed goals and targets.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
- Adaptable and flexible in response to changing circumstances and the needs of the role, including flexibility in working hours to coordinate with colleagues and donors in different locations and time zones.
- Ability to work under pressure, including meeting key project and reporting deadlines.
- Strong team player, able to collaborate effectively across departments and with senior stakeholders, while also taking ownership of assigned tasks.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a challenging and fast-paced multicultural environment.
