Duties and Responsibilities
General Description
The AHC Paediatrician should have a strong interest in paediatrics and demonstrate enthusiasm for leadership in strengthening and developing AHC’s services.
Areas of Duties and Responsibilities / Accountabilities
Clinical Activities:
- Act as the primary advocate for all patients attending AHC.
- Take primary responsibility for seeing oncology and neonatal patients.
Audit and Data Activities
- Maintain an up-to-date record of all patients attending AHC.
Training and Education Activities
- Engage with paediatric oncology volunteers and allocate time to support them during their visit.
- Demonstrate strong motivation for self-directed learning.
- Deliver CMEs and lectures for junior doctors, as required.
- Provide bedside teaching for AHC staff when assigned.
- Be willing to travel, including participation in overseas training opportunities.
All of the above activities will initially be carried out under the supervision of the AHC team leader.
Requirements:
- Hold a Diploma in Paediatrics (DES).
- Experience in neonatal or oncology training is preferred.
- Demonstrated a strong work ethic at AHC.
- Willingness to learn and continuously improve knowledge.
- Flexibility in working hours and the ability to balance oncology responsibilities with other duties.
