Angkor Hospital for Children (AHC) is seeking a highly motivated Cambodian individual to fill the currently vacant position of Senior Community Fundraising Officer (01 position).

The Community Fundraising team raises funds through special events, supporter-led fundraisers, donation box collections, and mass giving from local individuals. The team aims to raise approximately USD 1 million annually. To support this target, AHC is recruiting a Senior Community Fundraising Officer to play a key role within a team of three full-time staff.

The post holder will be responsible for building and maintaining relationships with partners and sponsors, as well as community and supporter-led fundraisers, corporate donors, individual donors, and third-party fundraising platforms. Reporting directly to the Community Fundraising Manager, the role will also support tasks delegated by the Domestic Fundraising Director, as required.

AHC has a zero-tolerance policy towards Child Abuse, Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (SEA), and Sexual Harassment (SH).

Key Responsibilities

A. Management of New Leads (Individuals and Corporations)

  • Act as the main point of contact for new individuals and corporate leads referred from Domestic Fundraising – Phnom Penh and Domestic Communications.
  • Work with the Community Fundraising Manager and Department Head to allocate donors appropriately (individuals, corporates, supporter-led fundraisers, etc.).
  • Enter, update, and maintain all lead information in the donor database (Salesforce).
  • Collaborate with the Domestic Partnerships & Philanthropy (P&P) team to develop proposals for new supporters, as required.
  • Identify and develop new leads to expand the supporter base.
  • Support welcoming and hospital tours for new supporters, when appropriate.
  • Maintain strong donor relationships by working with the Communications team to:
    • Share donation presentations on social media
    • Send greeting cards for special occasions
    • Distribute Annual Reports
    • Present Certificates of Appreciation for the following donations
    • Provide other supporter-requested assistance, as appropriate

B. Supporter-Led Events and Fundraisers

  • Serve as a team member coordinating local supporter-led events and fundraising activities, as assigned.
  • Participate in communications planning for supporter-led fundraising proposals, contributing ideas, strategies, and processes to ensure successful events.
  • Re-engage existing and lapsed supporter-led fundraisers to encourage continued support for AHC.
  • Support welcoming and hospital tours for supporter-led fundraisers, when appropriate.
  • Maintain supporter relationships by working with the Communications team to:
    • Promote supporter-led events and donations on social media
    • Send greeting cards for special occasions
    • Distribute Annual Reports
    • Present Certificates of Appreciation after donation presentations
    • Respond to other appropriate supporter requests
  • Record and update all donor and donation information in Salesforce.

C. Events, Campaigns, and Operational Support

  • Provide administrative and logistical support for local fundraising events and campaigns.
  • Support donation box collections when required.
  • Undertake any other appropriate tasks assigned by the Community Fundraising Manager or Department Head.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration (Management, Marketing, or a related field).
  • At least three years’ experience in event organisation, project management, business management, communications, public relations, external relations, or related fields, including exposure to finance and banking.
  • Minimum of three years’ experience working in a non-profit organisation; experience in a healthcare setting is an advantage.
  • Confident communicator, able to engage effectively with donors and supporters.
  • Warm, outgoing personality with the ability to build strong relationships with people from diverse backgrounds.
  • Professional-level written and spoken Khmer and English.
  • Strong numeracy skills, with attention to detail and understanding of best practice in cash handling and control measures.
  • Proactive, independent, and able to think quickly and solve problems effectively.
  • Honest and reliable.
  • Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Outlook, and comfortable using the internet.
  • Willingness to learn, work flexible hours, and travel nationally as required.
